Innocence may be described in lots of ways, all depending on perspective. To some people, innocence may represent those who have not been tainted by immorality. To others, purity may be defined as someone who has not really been damaged by the tough truth of reality and the surroundings. Towards a more literal feeling, innocence is being free of guilt in regards to legal matters and crime. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee illustrates how really innocent people can be targeted and dismissed as something that they really are not. Harper Lee uses the symbol of a mockingbird to represent various characters available. A mockingbird symbolizes a thing innocent providing you with nothing but positivity to their surroundings. Miss Maudie clarifies, " Mockingbirds don't do one thing yet make music for us to enjoy… they will don't do one thing yet sing their particular heart to us. Last but not least, Atticus Finch is a wonderful daddy and well renowned lawyer in Maycomb. People start turning their back on him when they recognize that he is defending a dark man.
